I  live in Portreath and grew up in mid-Cornwall. I have always enjoyed music and the Cornish folk tradition. I learnt to ring church bells at an early age and was encouraged to join a choir in my mid-twenties by my girlfriend Cerian. I joined St Columba after being badgered by Cyril Brenton a fellow bellringer, whilst supping ale and singing folk songs in pubs after ringing competitions. On 14th February 2009 I married Cerian in St Wenn Parish Church, with the choir singing during the service and at the reception.
